Terms of Use

By accessing or using HomeSight (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

HomeSight provides property intelligence, home history tools, renovation guidance, contractor connections, and related features for Calgary-area properties. Information is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal, financial, tax, engineering, or professional advice.

Many property and community fields are sourced from third parties, including datasets published under the Open Government Licence – City of Calgary. HomeSight processes, combines, and presents that data but does not control the accuracy or completeness of the underlying records.

Your use of information originating from The City of Calgary or other third-party providers remains subject to their applicable licences and terms. You are responsible for complying with those requirements when you download, republish, or commercially reuse data obtained through HomeSight.

You may not use HomeSight or data displayed on it in any way that suggests official status, or that The City of Calgary or any other data provider endorses you, your product, or your use of the information.

Some features require an account or paid subscription. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and refund policies are described on our pricing page.

You agree not to:

• Misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract data in violation of these terms or applicable third-party licences.
• Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to infringe the rights of others.
• Submit false, misleading, or infringing user content, including maintenance records or renovation plans you do not have the right to share.

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that harms the Service, other users, or data providers.

If you submit content to HomeSight (for example account profile details or realtor branding assets), you grant HomeSight a licence to host, display, and process that content to operate the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate applicable law or third-party rights.

User-contributed content is not independently verified by HomeSight unless we state otherwise. Other users should not treat it as certified fact without their own due diligence.

HomeSight's branding, software, original text, charts, scoring models, and layout are owned by HomeSight or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. City and third-party data remain subject to their respective copyrights and licence terms.

The Service and all information on it are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that property records, permit data, suite status, proximity scores, community statistics, renovation estimates, or any other displayed information is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your purpose. Third-party data is licensed on an "as is" basis by its providers, including The City of Calgary under the Open Government Licence.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeSight and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on information displayed on it — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You use the Service entirely at your own risk. You are fully responsible for consequences resulting from decisions you make based on information shown on HomeSight, including real estate, renovation, financing, and legal decisions.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HomeSight from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these terms, your violation of third-party data licences, or content you submit.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that disputes relating to these terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the courts of Alberta, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law.

We may modify these Terms of Use or the Service at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
